Sunscreen Diaries: Sente

PR sample. All opinions are my own.

As you may remember, this summer I have been reviewing numerous SPF products to help everyone find the right one for them. I have already reviewed Coola, Dermalogica, PCA Skin, and today I will be reviewing one from SENTÉ.

I’ll be honest, I was intrigued by this brand because it was started by biotech entrepreneurs and scientists. I love seeing scientist break into mainstream industries, so I always like to support those endeavors. SENTÉ just released their Pollution Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Sunscreen – a broad spectrum UVB and UVA. This oil-free sunscreen is formulated with non-nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which creates a physical barrier to fight off harmful pollutants and damaging UVA/UVB rays. Plus this is tinted, which creates a long-lasting base.

I have used this for about 2 weeks, and I’ve been pretty happy with it. It doesn’t feel greasy at all, which is often a problem with facial sunscreens (and especially bad for me since I already have oily skin), plus it does provide a good base for days when you need that extra coverage.

As for the price, it is high: $49 for 1.80z, or $27/oz. But at the end of the day, sunscreen is the one of the most important steps to keep your skin healthy, which you can’t really put a price on.
