Play! by Sephora May 2016 Review

img_4396My May Play! by Sephora box came in last week right before my graduation so I just had the time to open it a few days ago. The first thing that struck me was that they switched out the box for a cute little bag. I actually prefer the bag because it doesn’t take up any space to store, and can be used for travel.
This month we received 6 items, including a mask trio from Origins. You may notice I didn’t actually receive all of the trio, I was missing the Maskimizier priming mist. I emailed Sephora and unfortunately, they are not able to replace it so instead they refunded me for this box which was a really nice gesture.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick, Kimchi. I was really excited to get this lipsticks for two reasons: 1) I’ve read a lot about Amuse Bouche lipsticks , and Bite Beauty lipsticks in general, but haven’t tried any out yet, and 2) I’ve been wanting to add a bright lipstick to my collection. I actually love this color! It is super bright and intimidating in the tube and it’s still bright on my lips, but not as bright as I feared. The lipstick is a little drying but I’ve come to expect that from lipsticks so I’m not surprised.

Tarte Tartiest Lip Crayon, Latergram. I don’t use lip pencils often, but I have a thing for Tarte lip products (I own 10-15 of the Lipsurgence lip tints) so I was excited to receive this in my box. The color, Latergram, is a pretty nude color that could be used with a variety of lipstick colors.

Origins Mask Trio: Clear Improvements, Drink-Up Intensive, Maskimizer. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive theMaskimizer soI don’t be able to see if it really does help make masks for efficient.  I have tried the Clear Improvements mask and really enjoyed it, so I’m happy to have another sample of it. I have never tried the Drink-Up Intensive mask but my skin will always benefit from more moisture, so I’m looking forward to trying this. My skincare routine changes pretty frequently but I always make sure to use a hydrating mask, so this is definitely a welcome addition.

Korres Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. This overnight cream has the benefits and strength of a mask but can be used every night for a brighter complexion. My complexion has been looking a little lackluster lately so I’m eager to start using this and see how my skin changes. I’m hoping the reviews are right and I’ll start seeing improvements within 3 nights.

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask. I am super low key when it comes to my hair- I’m a wash and go type of girl. But I like to do at least a weekly hair mask to make my hair extra soft. This mask has mixed reviews from the other people who received it this month so I’ll see when side of the spectrum I fall on.

Atelier Cologne, Orange Sanguine. I have a pretty large collection of go-to perfumes, so I’m not thrilled about getting a sample of one. However, I like floral and citrus scents, so I’m glad this one has an orange scent.

All in all, I’m once again really happy with this box. I think Sephora is doing a great job curating these boxes and I’m excited to see what they have in store for us in the boxes to come.
