Nature + Science = Farmacy Beauty

*These products were sent to me for review purposes. All opinions are my own.*

I don’t remember how I first heard about Farmacy Beauty, but I was immediately intrigued because it is developed by a biologist. The company uses cutting edge technology to create natural products for fresh, radiant skin. Farmacy Beauty kindly sent me the Perennial Picks: Skincare Discovery Kit and Honey Savior: All in One Skin Repair Salve.

The Perennial Picks kit is the perfect set to introduce you to the brand since it comes with four of their best-sellers, and they come in the perfect travel sizes! I took the entire set with me to Southern California for the Thanksgiving holiday and really enjoyed using them.

I started every morning with the New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains. This is similar to the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (reviewed here) in that it comes as a dry powder. You dispense a small amount of product into wet hands, rub hands together to form a paste and then apply this paste to your face. You rub this paste on your face for about a minute, rinse clean and you’re done! The powder is really fine so it’s not abrasive on your skin and will therefore be gentle enough for sensitive skin. Even though it’s gentle, I still feel that my skin is softer and smoother after just a few uses.

Following this, I use the Invincible Root Cell Anti-Aging serum. This is a really nice lightweight oil that instantly absorbs into the skin, leaving it soft and moisturized. Since I have only been using it for a little over a week, I can’t speak to it’s ability to create glowing skin, but I’ll report back once it’s finished.

In the mornings, I follow the serum with the Rinse ‘n Shine Daily Moisture Lock. This moisturizer is lightweight and absorbs readily into the skin, so it’s a perfect base layer for makeup. Event though it is so lightweight, I like how moisturized it leaves my skin. The combination of the serum and moisturizer keeps my skin from drying out throughout the day, but also prevents it from being oily- win!

In the evenings after using the  serum, I have been using Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm. This starts as a balm but once it touches your warm fingers, it dissolves into an oil. I take a bit of this and put it all over my face before turning in for the night. I have mixed feelings about this product. While it feels nice when I put it on, it makes my face so oily that even my husband has made remarks. It’s possible that my skin is just too oily for it (I have combination skin), if so, people will dry skin will love this. I also think this makes my skin more prone to breaking out, so unfortunately, I will not continue using this.

The final product I received was the Honey Savior All-In-One Skin Repair Salve. Working in the biotech industry, I am constantly washing my hands and taking gloves on and off. This causes my hands to be very dry and the cold weather definitely isn’t making things easier! This salve is perfect to add that extra moisture I need while absorbing quickly so I can continue working without having greasy hands. I will continue to use this anywhere I need an extra boost of moisture- hands, elbows, lips and cheeks.
