As we all know, smoking is not only bad for our health, but also bad for our society.therefore, our govrenment has publish an ban about forbid people smoke at the public place form 2011.1.1,including the indoor pulic placces, indoor public workplaces and pulic transport means.this ban will first come into power in the medical system.
In order to make this ban come into power,we should do what we can to reduce the behavior of smoke around us.we can put up some posteres at public places to aware people this is no-somking place.Perhaps the most important ,and most easyist thing that we can do is we won't be a smoker.
It has a long and hard way to forbid somke, but I believe that if everyone follw this ban and take a googd care of their behavior,we will have a clear sky soon.
The Flag of the World Health OrganizationThe World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialised United Nations agency which acts as a coordinator and researcher for public health around the world. Established on 7 April 1948, and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the agency inherited the mandate and resources of its predecessor, the Health Organization, which had been an agency of the League of Nations. The WHO's constitution states that its mission "is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health." Its major task is to combat disease, especially key infectious diseases, and to promote the general health of the peoples of the world. Examples of its work include years of fighting smallpox. In 1979 the WHO declared that the disease had been eradicated - the first disease in history to be completely eliminated by deliberate human design. The WHO is nearing success in developing vaccines against malaria and schistosomiasis and aims to eradicate polio within the next few years. The organization has already endorsed the world's first official HIV/AIDS Toolkit for Zimbabwe from October 3, 2006, making it an international standard.[14]
World No Tobacco Day, 31 May 2008
The focus
Globally, most people start smoking before the age of 18, with almost a quarter of those beginning before the age of 10. The younger children are when they first try smoking, the more likely they are to become regular tobacco users and the less likely they are to quit.
A strong link between advertising and smoking in young people has been proven. The more aware and appreciative young people are of tobacco advertising, the more likely they are to smoke or say they intend to. As a result, the tobacco industry spends billions of dollars worldwide each year spreading its marketing net as widely as possible to attract young customers. Tobacco companies market their products wherever youth can be easily accessed - in the movies, on the Internet, in fashion magazines, and at music concerts and sports events.
In response to this threat, World No Tobacco Day 2008 campaigns for a:
Total ban on all forms of tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship by the tobacco industry.
As we all know, the Chinese Ministry of Education released a smoking-free policy in campus on 29th January this year. And during the past 10 years, there were an alarming increase in students smoking which is quite disturbing. But in fact, smoking is such a bad habit that does great harm to smokers' health as well as the people around.
The factors lead to a great rise in campus smoking is really complex. First of all, with the increase of our living standard, we students have much pocket money which enables us to afford the cigarettes. And then, there are so many advertisements about cigarettes around us. What's more, we can get access to them easily. Last but not least, in some students' opinions, smoking is really cool which may make them feel more mature than others.
It's high time that we took actions to help them get rid of such a bad habit and build a smoking free campus. Firstly, I think there should be anti-smoking courses in our classes which would let us know about the danger of smoking. Secondly, there should not be any cigarettes on sale in the shops in campus which would help a lot.
Only in these ways can we build a smoking free campus. And only by building a smoking free campus can we protect our health from smoking.
As we all known, smoking is bad for health. Why not give it up? Recently, a study prove that smoking can lead to lung cancer. Cancer can not be cured in some extent. Not only is smoking bad for your health, but also it has negative effects on surroundings. In order to prevent your family from the bad effects, you must far away from smoking. In addition, the smoke can pollute the fresh air. In other words, it is one of the factors of air pollution. Therefore, smoking has so many disadvantages. Even though it is impossible for the smoker to give it up at once, they are supposed to reduce smoking. In a word, to get a healthy body, we should far away from cigarette. Because nothing is more important than health.
Creating a Conservation-Oriented Campus In this age of rapid depletion of natural resources, it is of paramount importance to create a conservation-oriented campus. The creation of such an ecologically-friendly campus would significantly contribute to China's overall efforts to become a leading low-carbon nation in the world. The most compelling reason for such an endeavor is to change a deep-entrenched misconception prevalent among college students. Most universities provide water and electricity for free, misleading students into believing that such resources are limitless and inexhaustible. We should realize that, currently, many parts of our country are suffering from unprecedente drought and power scarcity. We should show due concern for the welfare of people in those places by refusing to be selfish in satisfying our own needs. As responsible citizens of our society, we have the responsibility to recycle whatever we can lay hands or. The small efforts by a single individual may make a huge difference. To be a well-educated college student is to be conservation conscious. College graduates are the future of our country and by enhancing their conservation awareness they would definitely play a leading role in protecting our environment in the future and in making our world a better place to live.。
