Nude ‘tude was my first purchase from theBalm. I had heard things about this brand through Birchbox, but I hadn’t had the opportunity to try anything, until I bought this. I love neutral eyeshadows, and always wanted to try Urban Decay’s Naked Palette, but wasn’t sure about the price tag. theBalm frequently has 50% off sales, so I finally took advantage of one to buy theBalm Nude ‘tude, which is their version of the Naked Palette (at $18 vs $50, this was a no-brainer).
Nude ‘tude contains 12 shadows, most of which are shimmer but there are a few matte shades as well. The colors are all meant to either be worn individually or layered over each other to add definition and dimension to your eyes. There are endless combinations for these eyeshadows, and I am still enjoying finding new ways to wear them.
Sassy: iridescent pearl
Stubborn: light-medium peachy pink
Selfish: frosted taupe
Snobby: yellow gold
Stand-offish: silver taupe
Sultry: matte brown
Sophisticated: dark brown with gold shimmer
Sexy: deep burgundy
Serious: matte black
Seductive: golden bronze
Silly: dark brown with copper shimmer
Sleek: matte brown
The only ones I had issues with were the matte shadows (Serious and Sleek), which i found were a bit powdery and not as soft as the shimmer shades. These other 10 shadows are buttery and highly pigmented, and definitely compare to the more expensive brands. The packaging, although cardboard, is very sturdy and comes with a large mirror, making this palette ideal for travel.
Have you tried this brand? What dupes for the Naked palette have you found?
