Play! by Sephora June 2016 Review

The Play! by Sephora subscription box is quickly becoming my favorite sub. In fact, starting in July, it will be my only box as I cancelled all the others in an effort to reduce clutter and force myself to use up the products I’ve accumulated from multiple sub boxes. But I love Play! so much, I couldn’t bring myself to cancel.

The theme for June was  minimalist and contained everything we need to effortlessly look great. Spring and summer are my favorite seasons and I love easy going, barely there looks, which all of these products help to provide.

Bare Minerals BareSkin Sheer Sun Serum.  A bronzer and a serum in one? Sounds interesting! The lightweight formula blends seamlessly to give all skin tones a sun-kissed look, which is my favorite look in the summer. I will be testing this both alone and mixed with my foundation to see which look I prefer.

Becca Backlight Priming Filter. I was afraid this primer would too shimmery for me, and make my already oily skin extra oily. Boy was I wrong! It is really lightweight and easy to apply with your fingertips. It does what it says and acts as a filter to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and adds a soft glow. So far I haven’t used it as an actual primer under foundation, I’ve only worn it alone under a setting powder (to help with oiliness) and it looks great. I will be trying to with foundation to see how it fares as a primer, but so far I really like it!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara. This is my favorite mascara for it’s ability to lengthen and darken my lashes without clumping. It’s really easy to apply and multiple coats can be applied to make it even more dramatic. I own at least 5 sample sizes and 1 full size as this is my go-to mascara.

Tarte Tarteguard Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 30. Some people hate getting sunscreen in their subscription boxes, but I’m happy to get it. I spent a lot of time in the sun in high school and college, so now I’m trying to undo that damage and use SPF whenever I’m in the sun. Therefore, I’m happy to have a small bottle I can toss in my purse for these times I unexpectedly end up in the sun. This sunscreen is non-greasy and blends in quickly without leaving my skin white.

Tocca Florence Perfume. This floral perfume is meant to conjour up memories of old-world Paris. I hope that means it doesn’t smell, mature. I like floral scents but they can quickly become overpowering and old lady-esque, so I’m hoping this does not do that! In general, I think Tocca does a good job of making beautiful scents without being overpowering.

bumble and bumble Don’t Blow It Hair Styler. This cream enhances texture and body for the perfect air-dried style, which is perfect since all I do is air-dry my hair! I don’t know how this will compare to other leave in conditioners I use, but it’s definitely worth testing out.

Another superb box from Sephora. While I loved my subscription, I will sadly not be receiving the July box. I had to cancel my credit card last month, and forgot to change my payment method before the 7th of July, which was the deadline for this month. So I will not be receiving the July box, but I plan on editing the information so that I can receive the August box!
