I can tell you exactly when my beauty obsession really took hold. It was 2013 and I was preparing for the biggest oral exam of my graduate school career. During the 4 months that I prepared, I read countless beauty blogs as as way to relax during my study breaks. After I successfully passed the exam, I continued devouring blogs, most of which were UK-based. From them, I learned about all the great brands and products we are missing out on in the US. So of course, I had to get my hands on some of these products. I’ve been fortunate to obtain a collection of products from Bourjois, Catrice, Sleek, Collection and P2, and these four products are my favorite.
I got this Sleek iDivine Au Natural eyeshadow palette because I didn’t want to splurge on the Urban Decay Naked palette, and this did not disappoint. This is my daily go-to palette as the colors blend so well and the colors make it easy to switch things up while remaining natural. The palette contains a good mix of neutral colors, as well as some to add some unexpected color (like the gorgeous burgundy). The shimmery colors are so pigmented and a little goes a long way. These colors are so beautiful and soft and blendable.
It wouldn’t be a proper UK-beauty product roundup with the famous Bourjois Bronzing Powder. I read about this everywhere, both about it’s great color as well as it’s delicious chocolate scent, so I got this in two shades because I love bronzer, and find I need a slightly darker one when I have a tan in the summer.
I was fortunate to receive Catrice Loose Moisturizing Highlighter from an international swap (sidenote- international beauty swaps are my favorite thing! If you’re every interested in swapping with a US beauty addict, I’m your girl!). This powder is really finely milled and gives a beautiful sheen. It looks pink in the tub, but once on, it actually imparts the most beautiful sheen. The size of this tub is huge, and I don’t think I will ever get through it which makes me happy as I can’t imagine being without it.
The Bourjois Bronzing Primer is supposed to be a dupe for the Chanel Soleil de Tan, which I had been lusting over forever. I love this product so much. Since it’s a cream, it’s really easy to blend and therefore nearly impossible to over-do it. I know it can be (and probably meant to be) worn all over skin, but I use it exactly like a bronzer. I find it gives me the most beautiful glow and never looks orange. A great, cheaper alternative to the Chanel.
