Makeup Favorites 2017

I think I saw this every year, but this year really flew by. Even though it was insanely busy, and stressful at times, it was a really great year and I’m excited for 2018.  Even though I focused a lot more on my skincare, I still have some favorite makeup products from this year that I have to share.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. This is definitely one of Laura Mercier’s most iconic and well-loved product, and for good reason.  I have been using it since high school, and it has since remained on my favorites list. However, this past year I went back to using it daily and was reminded of just how perfect it is. It’s lightweight with buildable coverage, and it has SPF to protect your  skin from the sun. It also comes in a wide range of shades as well as an oil-free formulation, so there really is something for everyone.

The Balm Batter Up, Shutout. I bought this on a whim during one of the Balm’s 50% off sales, and am so happy I did. During the week, I need quick and easy to apply makeup as I never give myself enough time to get ready ( I enjoy sleeping way too much), which is why eyeshadow sticks are so great. Shutout is a golden bronze color that looks wonderful on, and wears all day with no creasing.

Onomie Bright Concealing Elixir, Trotula. This may be the most perfect concealer for me. Not only is the color a great match, even with my yellow undertones, but the texture and coverage is the best I’ve used. It goes on smooth and immediately after applying, my dark circles are completely covered but the concealer is so lightweight, it didn’t feel like I have anything on.

W3LL People Bio Brightener. I got this highlighter in March and have been using it consistently every since. I am very particular when it comes to highlighters and I am terrified of wearing anything too glittery. I don’t find this to be glittery in the slightest, instead this is a subtle highlighter that blends well and gives a wonderful glow to the skin. Since it’s such a pretty champagne color, it can also double as an eyeshadow.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer, Park Avenue Princess. I think I own about 20 bronzers ( I know, I have a problem) because they are my favorite makeup product- one swipe and it completely transforms my face. This one is buildable and gives a skin a gorgeous sun-kissed glow, without looking orange (as some bronzers do).
