DIY Marble Tray

You may remember a few weeks ago I posted about the Pinterest pins that have been inspiring me. Well, I was so inspired, I promptly got on Amazon and ordered the necessary pieces to make the marble tray with gold handles. The entire project was much easier than I thought it would be, and only took about 15 minutes (not including the spray paint dry time). I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I spent more time than necessary with the measurements and gluing 🙂

I got the largest marble tile I could find- 6″ x 12″ (here) and also picked up some gold spray paint (how I never had this before is beyond me) and some drawer pulls. I sprayed a few layers of the gold paint on the  drawer pulls and did some measurements while they dried. I used a pencil to mark the spots I planned on gluing. Once they were dry, I added glue to both the drawer pulls and the marble tile. After allowing the glue to become tacky (this takes a few minutes, so be patient. I was impatient and attached them too early and it didn’t quite set right, so I had to re-do the entire glue process the next day), I attached the pulls to the tile. I then let the entire thing dry for a few days and voila, a beautiful tray! The marble tile came in a 2-pack so I have another tray to make. My big decision is if I should do it again with gold pulls, so switch it up and try chrome or bronze.

    • It is so easy! The hardest part was making sure the handles were even 🙂 I love the way it turns out, it looks so much more expensive than it is!
