I mentioned earlier this week that I received a mini BY TERRY Baume de Rose balm in the Birchbox Vanity Affair box (review here). This moisturizing balm can be used on both your lips and cuticles. Since receiving it, I have been primarily using it on my lips, although I sometimes use what’s left on my finger on my cuticles.
As suggested by Birchbox, I use a thick layer at night and a thinner one in the morning before my other lip product. The balm has a pink color in the jar, but on the lips it is clear. Using a thin layer is the perfect way to prime the lips before adding lipstick. I find that in morning after using it, my lips are very moisturized and more plump. Even without the noticeable difference in my lips, I will continue to use this until I run out because it is so luxurious!
It has a nice rose scent, but it is pretty strong so those sensitive to scents will probably not like this product. It is quite pricey so I’m not sure I will ever order the full size. It also takes such a small amount that I’m sure this sample size will last a very long time.
I’m really happy I received this in the Vanity Affair box. It’s such an expensive product that I never would have purchased it myself, so I’m glad to sample it. I think I will try the Dior Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip balm next. What are your thoughts on either of these?
