The Blogger Made Me Buy It (Round 2)

Almost a year ago, I posted about the products I bought solely based on blogger hype. You know the feeling- you keep seeing a product over and over again, and the bloggers rave about how amazing it is, so you have to have it, even if it’s not normally a type of product you use. In the past year, I have managed to buy even more products off of blogger hype and wanted to share my thoughts.

Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette: I started seeing this on my Instagram feed as soon as it came out, and since I adore Chrissy, I had to buy it immediately. I was pleasantly surprised by this product- the color payoff is great and they work really well on my medium skin. Using this palette, you really can create the perfect sun-kissed look, which is my favorite look. My one issue with this palette is that the highlighters are larger than the blush and bronzer and I was it were the other way around, as I’m more of a bronzer/blush gal than highlight one.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: This is a very popular mascara, but I wasn’t sure it could ever replace my beloved Benefit They’re Real. However, it does come close. This mascara makes my lashes look longer and fuller, almost as if they are fake. It also holds a curl extremely well, which is one of the most important things to me. The biggest complaint is that it clumps more than They’re Real, which means I have to be more careful with the application.

Glossier Glow Tint, Medium: Like all of the Glossier products I own, I bought this solely from all the hype around it on Instagram. I have it in medium and like it because it’s very lightweight, which means you can easily blend it if it’s not a perfect match for you. Since it’s lightweight you can also layer it for additional coverage. I find that doing one layer all over my face, a second layer around my nose and cheeks, and then a loose powder to keep the shine away, provides the perfect amount of coverage. With this combination, my skin looks great, and you can’t even tell I’m wearing makeup.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick: Prior to trying this liquid lipstick, I had a very negative view of liquid lipsticks. In my experience, they dried out my lips like crazy, and never had the staying power I expected. However, that all changed when I tried the Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks. These lipsticks have amazing staying power and don’t leave my lips chapped and dried out. I have them in a range of colors, but my absolute favorite is Patina, the gorgeous dusty rose pictured here.

Fresh Rose Face Mask: I love all things roses when it comes to beauty products, so after hearing about the real rose petals in this hydrating mask, I had to try it. I love using this mask when my skin is extra dry and just needs a pick me up. The mask instantly hydrates my skin and overall brightens my complexion. If you don’t like scented products, especially rose scents, then this product is definitely not for you!
